Meet The Trainer

Spartan K9 was founded by Wesley Denton, a United States Marine Corps veteran whose journey into professional dog training began with a Rottweiler named Ramsey. That first bond sparked a deep passion for understanding and shaping canine behavior.

Today Wesley continues that journey alongside his loyal companion Buck, a testament to the power of consistent training and trust. Drawing on the discipline and dedication instilled during his military service, Wesley has committed himself to transforming the relationship between owner and K9, through expert training, clear communication, and unwavering commitment.

Spartan K9 specializes in behavior modification for dogs of all breeds and ages, focusing on both on- and off-leash training. Our mission is to help owners overcome challenges with their dogs by providing effective, professional training solutions that foster trust, respect, and lasting companionship.

Hands-On Trainer Guidance

Our experienced trainer will work directly with you in structured sessions, teaching you the proper techniques and commands to effectively communicate with your dog.

Owner-Led Practice

Between sessions, you’ll be responsible for reinforcing these lessons at home, allowing your dog to learn in a comfortable environment while building consistency and trust.

Tailored to Your Dog’s Needs

Every dog is different, which is why our approach is customized to your dog’s personality, learning style, and specific behavior challenges.

Convenient & Effective

Stay close to home! This training is designed to teach the owner how to become a handler. Training takes place in & around your home, making training not only a learning experience but a way of life for you and your dog.

Owner consistently reviews training notes and dedicating a minimum of 4 hours per day implementing training with your dog by reinforcing commands and observing their behavior.

Understanding that the key to lasting results is consistency and active involvement from you, the owner. That's why we encourage you to be hands on during the training process-not just during sessions, but in your daily routine.

Take the time to engage with your dog by walking, playing, and challenging current routines, all while implementing the training.

At Spartan K9, we offer in-home personalized obedience training designed to set both you and your dog up for success. Our first priority is teaching your dog proper leash manners and basic obedience, ensuring that your dog masters the (5) essential commands while strengthening the bond between you.

SPARTAN K9

Expectations from the trainer:

Consistently reviewing training notes and dedicating a minimum of 4 hours per day to actively working with your dog, reinforcing commands, and observing their behavior.
Have the physical ability to train your dog throughout the day. We believe that consistency and active involvement from the owner are essential for success and this is a vital part of the training process. While your dog is learning there is a much greater need for active participation, including walking, guiding and engaging in activities that require moderate to heavy physical demands.
Owners should feel confident and at ease while working with their dog during in-home training sessions, ensuring a positive and productive learning experience.

Board & Train Personalized Obedience Program

At Spartan K9, our Board & Train Program is designed for owners who want a solid obedience foundation for their dog while also addressing problem behaviors in a structured, immersive training environment. While your dog stays with our expert trainer, they will receive one-on-one professional training to learn:

Basic Obedience

Sit, down, stay, heel, come, and more.

Behavior Corrections

Addressing unwanted behaviors like jumping, excessive barking, leash pulling, or house manners.

Structure & Confidence

Teaching your dog to remain calm, focused, and responsive in real-world scenarios.

This program is ideal for owners who want professional training but may not have time available to properly manage their dog, all while still being actively involved in their dog’s progress. By the time your dog returns home, they’ll have a strong foundation, and you’ll have the skills needed to maintain their training long-term.
